THE SCIENCE BEHIND THERMO-REFLECTION

Thermo-reflection is the capacity to reflect heat or cold in its wave state. The heat of the Sun, for example, is propagated through electromagnetic waves via « thermal radiation ». Waves are absorbed or reflected depending on the surface with which they make contact

Unlike bulky insulation products that work by absorption, ITR® insulation solutions reflect waves and function as a barrier against heat and cold.

LES PRINCIPES DE L’ISOLATION PAR Isolant ITRTHERMO-RÉFLEXION

La thermo-réflexion est la capacité à renvoyer la chaleur ou le froid à l’état d’ondes. Le soleil, par exemple, se propage grâce aux ondes électro-magnétiques, communément appelé « rayonnement thermique ». En fonction de la surface rencontrée, les ondes vont être absorbées ou réfléchies.

Contrairement aux isolants épais qui agissent par absorption, les isolants ITR® renvoient ces ondes et interviennent comme une barrière contre la chaleur et le froid.

Plus le rayonnement est réfléchi, moins il y a de transfert thermique. Avec plus ou moins 95% de réflectivité, l’aluminium et le polyester métallisé font partie des meilleurs isolants thermo-réfléchissant.
